Abstract

With the rapid advancement of technology and the transformation of economic structures, the skills required in the workplace are continuously evolving. However, educational systems for young people often struggle to keep pace with these changes. For graduates of universities and vocational education institutions, possessing the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes demanded by employers has become a crucial determinant of employability.

This study was conducted in response to the need to examine the extent to which the knowledge, education, and skills acquired by young people align with labor market requirements and employer expectations. The research was carried out in two main directions. First, an analysis of the reasons for youth unemployment was conducted through the synthesis and evaluation of national statistical indicators. Second, surveys were administered to employers and employed youth in both urban and rural areas in order to obtain assessments and comparative insights.

The findings of the study reveal that, under the current conditions of the country, the alignment between youths’ knowledge, education, and skills and the requirements of the labor market varies considerably, indicating inconsistencies in the compatibility between educational outcomes and workplace demands.
