Abstract

This study assessed the aerobic capacity of physical education and sports students using the 20-meter shuttle run test, the Borg 6–20 (RPE) scale, and a self-rating questionnaire. The results revealed a moderate positive correlation between shuttle run performance and self-rating (r = .47, p < .05), and a very high positive correlation between Borg rating and heart rate (r = .95, p < .001). The reliability of the questionnaire was high (Cronbach’s α = .82). The results of the study showed that the shuttle run test in combination with the Borg scale and self-rating was effective in assessing students’ aerobic capacity and subjective sense of exertion.
