The state of innovation activity in Mongolia and challenges

Abstract

An important indicator for determining the economic competitiveness of a country is the level of technological development and maturity of the innovation system. The role of science, technology and innovation is important in diversifying Mongolia's economic sector and transitioning it to a multi-pillar, competitive structure. In particular, the education sector, as a sub-sector of the national innovation system, has two main responsibilities: to contribute to the development of the country through innovations in the education sector, and to improve the sector by introducing innovations. In addition, when creating an efficient system of science and technology in the sub-sectors of innovation, it is important to evaluate the state and level of the innovation implementation process and correctly clarify the situation. For this reason, in order to improve the competitiveness of the economy, it is extremely important for the government to support the development of innovation, to clarify and use indicators to measure how innovation activities are developing in social and economic sectors at the national level and at what level they are compared to other countries.
